KOMAG - Supporting Member of the Polish Acoustical Society
Image According to the Board decision from 9th September 2008 the KOMAG Mining Mechanization Centre became a member of the Polish Acoustical Society (PAS). PAS membership creates a possibility of a joint realization of research projects and services as well as it enables to use of laboratories of the Polish Acoustical Society and its research base.

Realization of COST 356 ACTION
Within the European COST 356 Action the KOMAG Centre realizes, under the auspices of the Mayor of Gliwice, Prof. Zygmunt Frankiewicz, a research project focused on activities aiming at a definition of transport of sustainable impact on environment. The measurements of PM10 and PM2.5 dust concentration in Gliwice are included in the project. They will be taken in the vicinity of the main roads of high traffic intensity in the city centre and in the areas of good ventilation conditions.

Accreditation of the Laboratory of Material Engineering and Environment
 
We would like to inform that on 9th May 2008 the Laboratory of Material Engineering and Environment at the KOMAG Centre has obtained the Accreditation No. AB 910 from the Polish Centre for Accreditation in Warsaw.

KOMAG Managing Board of Attestation Tests’ Division, Certifying Body
Andrzej Meder, Ph.D. Eng., Director of the KOMAG Centre has appointed Managing Board to ensure control of the system for products’ certification, conducted at the Division of Attestation Tests, Certifying Body at the KOMAG Mining Mechanization Centre, and to ensure confidence as regards certification processes, in accordance with the requirements of PN-EN 45011:2000 Standard.

Modernization of KOMAG laboratories to adapt them to EU requirements

Research infrastructure of the KOMAG Mining Mechanization Centre is supported financially by the European Union. The project entitled "Modernization of the KOMAG Centre laboratories to adapt them to the EU requirements", which was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund has just been finished.
