of the 60th Anniversary of the KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology

Invitation to Attend

The KOMAG Management have a pleasure and honour of inviting you to the KOMTECH 2010 Conference  which will be held in the “Perla Poludnia”  Hotel in Rytro.
The basic objective of the conference is a presentation of the state-of-the-art knowledge in the field of most advanced technical and technological solutions for underground mining which reduce hazards in operational processes of machines and equipment, in the aspect of work safety and health protection.


The scope of the conference includes the following subjects:
  • New design solutions and development trends of mining mechanization systems.
  • Machines and equipment for roadway and longwall mining systems.
  • Mining of thin seams – shearers or ploughs?
  • Systems for run-of-mine and men transportation.
  • Intelligent systems for supply, control and diagnostics of machines and equipment drives.
  • Underground monitoring and visualization systems.
  • Methods of identification, modelling and visualisation of risk factors experienced while operating mining machines and equipment with regard to the relationship: man-machine-work environment.  
  • Innovative techniques and technologies in the range of work safety and ergonomics.
  • State-of-the-art testing methods and technologies for identification, prediction, reduction and control of mining hazards.
  • Formal and legal requirements concerning a reduction of hazards.
  • State-of-the-art systems for work safety management in the mining industry.
  • Risk assessment in the mining industry.
 
Papers

Deadline for abstract submission: 6th August 2010.  A maximum 300 words’ abstract in English should be e-mailed to the Secretary of the Organizing Committee at Each abstract shall contain personal data of the author (co-authors) i.e. a title, academic degree, first name, surname, place and address of employment, e-mail address of the corresponding author.

Full texts of the papers in English or in Polish should be submitted, according to the specified editorial guidelines, until 10th  September 2010.

Guidelines for Authors of Papers
  • Drawings, graphs (diagrams), tables and the like are to be prepared on separate pages with pointing out places of their insertion in the text of the paper. Note that illustrations must work in black and white.
  • The volume of the paper including illustrations should not exceed 15 pages of the A4 size.
  • The text should be edited in Word.
  • At the beginning of the paper the first name, surname of the author (co-authors) and then the title of the paper should be put.
  • Precede the body of your paper with an abstract of 200 to 300 words.
  • The paper should be e-mailed to:

Conference Fee:
  • Regular –  EUR 400
  • Authors of Papers – EUR 300   
Fee includes conference proceedings, accommodation in a single room and meals. Please note that the registration is binding. After having received your payment no refunds will be made for cancellations.

Conference Venue

“Perla-Poludnia” (“The Pearl of the South”) Hotel*** -  the sport and recreation centre in Rytro.
The hotel is situated in the South of Poland, 140 km from the Kraków Airport, 230 km from Katowice Airport,  on the way from Nowy Sacz to Piwniczna, in the picturesque valley of The Poprad River Natural Park.
