Activity of Laboratory of Material Engineering and Environment includes research projects and tests in the field of material engineering, environment engineering and safe use of products.In February 2008 the Laboratory of Material Engineering and Environment obtained the Accreditation No. AB 910 of the Polish Accreditation Centre in Warsaw in the range of the following tests: Accreditation range of Laboratory of Material Engineering and EnvironmentThe Laboratory offers laboratory tests in environment engineering according to the requirements of PN-EN ISO 9001:2001 Quality Management System, which was certified by Polish Centre for Testing and Certification S.A. and includes as follows:
- analyses of physical and chemical content of fuels, industrial wastes, water and sewage, including a determination of heavy metals content,
- testing the wastes to wash out susceptibility.
Independence, objectivity and accuracy of carried out tests are guaranteed by the Laboratory specialists, having high qualifications, confirmed, among others, by the competence certificates granted by the Office of Technical Inspection in Warsaw as well as by the KOMAG Quality System meeting the requirements of PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Standard.The Laboratory takes an active part in research activities of the Polish Testing Laboratories Club POLLAB, including the Division of Materials Testing, the Division of Environmental Protection, the Division of Machines, Equipment and Transportation Means as well as POLLAB-CHEM /EURACHEM-PL Division.In 2007 the Laboratory was a coordinator of the external quality assessment of laboratories organized within the Chapters of the Polish Testing Laboratories Club according to an agreement with the Polish Centre for Accreditation as regards the following tests:
- tests of toys’ safety,
- non-destructive tests,
- chemical composition of steel,
- resistance to corrosion.
